Our boar bristles are ethically collected during the boars' natural summer shedding season, when the coarse, sturdy bristles along the neck and back are ready to release. The animals are never harmed in the process.
From there, each batch goes through a careful multi-stage process to ensure it's clean, safe, and built to last:
Cleaning and softening. The raw bristles are soaked in warm water to gently loosen any residual grease and natural oils.
Deep cleaning and drying. The bristles are thoroughly washed to remove impurities, then dried to bring out their natural straightness and strength.

- In your first few uses, a small number of bristles may naturally shed as the bamboo adjusts to your local humidity. This is completely normal and typically stops after 1 to 2 weeks of regular use. If excessive shedding occurs, contact us at lauryn@primals.shop.
- Leave a 0.5 to 1mm gap between the brush head and handle for proper vibration transfer. Do not force the head flush against the handle.
- Stand your toothbrush upright after each use for optimal drying to maximize the lifespan of each head.
- Run the bristles under warm water before use to soften them slightly.
- If bristles are flattening quickly, you may be brushing with too much force. Use lighter pressure and circular motions.
